two butteville 8th graders perform a walking experiment on tarps on a flat grassy area

Check out what our 8th grade scientists have been up to!

Students have been making footprints that demonstrate bipedalism. They made observations, inferences and measurements about stride length, toe orientation, etc. that they will use to compare to quadrupedal great ape footprints like chimps and gorillas. The final picture shows 8th graders using manipulatives to derive function equations.

These kids are amazing!!
